Weekend eventsBy Compiled by Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published June 17, 2000 TodayAUTO RACING: Tonight's Citrus County Speedway program will feature Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Street-Legal Junkers and the return of the Figure 8 class. The quarter-mile track is 2 miles south of Inverness off U.S. 41 at the fairgrounds. Gates open at 4 p.m. with the first heat race at 6:30. It's $10 for general admission, $8 for senior citizens and students to age 17, $2 for children 10 and under, and $20 for a pit pass.Upcoming events WILD TURKEYS: The Nature Coast Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will host the seventh annual NWTF Superfund Banquet July 13 at the Knights of Columbus hall in Homosassa. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7:30. Tickets are $50 for single admission (including NWTF membership), $75 for couples, $250 for a sponsor and $15 for youths. There will be more than $15,000 in prizes. Memberships help the NWTF support wildlife management and preserve hunting as a traditional American sport. Outdoors clubsTHE HERNANDO AUDUBON SOCIETY, a chapter of the Florida and National Audubon Society, meets on the fourth Thursday of each month (unless noted otherwise) at 7 p.m. at the Brooksville Community Hall, 205 E Fort Dade Ave. Membership is open to all. Call (352) 754-5186 THE PASCO CHAPTER OF THE COASTAL CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Red Cross building at Ridge Road and Congress Avenue in Port Richey. THE HERNANDO AREA BOAT CLUB, organized to promote safe boating, meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the Aripeka Community Center on Osawa Boulevard (C.R. 595).
