Open and shut

Carrollwood

Full service liquor store opens: ABC Fine Wine & Spirits has opened one of its full-service outlets at 14729 N Dale Mabry Highway. The store features the regular gamut of liquor offerings, but also has a wide selection of wine, beer and gourmet foods.

Added features include a walk-in cigar humidor and a climate-controlled wine cellar. ABC officials say the store will have more than 3,000 wines, 200 cigar types and 100 different imported and microbrewed beers.

The store will host its first wine and beer tasting event June 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7 and includes a $5 coupon for any purchase made at the event.

Sports bar replaces Crabby Toms restaurant: Crabby Toms seafood restaurant, 14404 N Dale Mabry Highway, closed recently and sold its business to Prime Time Sports Grill, in the Shoppes of Carrollwood. Prime Time offers lunch and dinner specials and plans to open soon. The previous owners of Crabby Toms still own Oyster Bay at 9202 Anderson Road.

Sushi coming this summer: Bonsai Sushi, 2826 E Bearss Ave., is under construction and plans to open later this summer in the Palms Connection shopping center. This is the first sushi restaurant for owner June Patton, who also owns a retail dollar and beauty supply store on Nebraska Avenue.

Lutz

Little Caesar's closes: Little Caesar's Pizza at Sunset Plaza has closed. "They were on a month-to-month basis," said Siona Hayoun, commercial leasing manager for the shopping center manager.

Ms. Hayoun said she is negotiating with several retailers to lease the Little Caesar's space, and the U.S. Postal Service next door is interested in expanding there.

Gas station and convenience store opens: A Hess gasoline station and convenience store has opened at U.S. 41 and Crenshaw Lake Road. The station was developed by the property owner, Lutz hematologist Hussain Saba, who owns both western corners of the intersection.

Northdale

Fabric store: Hancock Fabrics is moving into the old Frank's Nursery, 15910 Mapledale Drive, on the corner of N Dale Mabry Highway. They still have some remodeling to do and plan to move in by the end of June to start setting up items.

New Tampa

Seafood restaurant open: Oceans New England Seafood and Grill opened this week in the New Tampa Center on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard near West Meadows. The restaurant features homemade clam chowder, haddock, scallops, clams and lobster. Hours are from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The restaurant marks the latest for owners Charles and Lisa Magro. They operated similar seafood houses in Zephyrhills and Palm Harbor.

Clothing and accessory shop going out of business: After three years in business, the Classique clothing and accessories store in the New Tampa Center is shutting its doors June 30. Operators said they were forced to close because of a long-term illness in the family. All of its remaining clothing, hats, handbags and office equipment are on sale at a discount.

Fitness center now open: Lifestyle Family Fitness opened its new gym on Wednesday at 15313 Amberly Drive just off Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. The fitness center is in the Palm Lake shopping center where the old Food Lion used to be.
