Highs

Highs

THE LAKERS: Their second straight championship completed the greatest run in NBA post-season history. The scary thing for the league? Shaq's reaction after the game: no whooping, no hollering, but a whole lot of talk of winning a lot more titles.

USF: First, the school hired Lee Roy Selmon as AD and now Michael Kelly as his deputy. Suddenly, the athletic department is on a roll.

BARRY BONDS: Let's see, 36 homers in 67 games, including 21 in his past 25, and 12 games ahead of McGwire's pace of 70. Folks, it's time: Let the countdown begin.

BRUINS FANS: How committed do you have to be to show up 15,000 strong to honor a former player display the Stanley Cup he won with another team?

Lows

MIKE HELTON: Teresa Earnhardt has stuck by NASCAR through the whole Dale Earnhardt ordeal and the many safety questions that followed. But when it came time to answer questions in court about NASCAR's role in the bid to seal Earnhardt's autopsy photos, Helton, NASCAR's president, ducked a subpoena and left Mrs. Earnhardt to answer the questions.

THE NBA: Sixers fans rightly booed Destiny's Child during its Game 4 halftime performance because some of the performers were wearing Lakers gear. The NBA, no doubt, orchestrated the group's attire but should have known not to mess with Philly fans.
