Undercover buys lead to drug, child abuse charges, deputies sayBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published June 18, 2000 HOLIDAY -- A husband and wife were charged with selling drugs, child abuse and child neglect after deputies say they sold undercover deputies marijuana in the presence of children. Harold Paul Haslett, 35, and Felecia Rooney Haslett, 34, were charged Friday, according to a Pasco sheriff's deputy's report. The couple first sold marijuana to an undercover deputy on May 16, then on three other occasions, the report said. In all, Harold Haslett sold 382 grams, or 13.5 ounces, to the undercover deputies. The last drug buy happened Friday, and the two were arrested, deputies said. Officials also said the drugs were located on a coffee table in the couple's home, within reach of a 3-year-old girl. Harold Haslett also told officers that he has allowed a 14-year-old girl to smoke marijuana in his presence, the report said. Deputies are not disclosing the couple's address or relationship between the two minors in order to protect the juveniles' identities. Harold Haslett was charged with four counts of selling marijuana, four counts of possessing marijuana, one count of neglect of a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a child. He is being held at the county jail in Land O'Lakes on $41,000 bail. Felecia Haslett was charged with two counts of selling marijuana and one count each of neglect of a child, contributing to the delinquency of a child, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held at the county jail on $21,000 bail. Man charged in car theft, assault on brother-in-lawA 34-year-old Dade City man was charged with grand theft auto and aggravated domestic assault after deputies said he stole his sister's car and kicked his brother-in-law. David Michael Cramer, 34, of 38156 Michael Road, is being held on $35,000 bail at the county jail in Land O'Lakes. Pasco sheriff's deputies say Cramer took his sister's car April 26, then argued with his brother-in-law Thursday. Cramer hit and kicked his brother-in-law, then pointed a pistol at his brother-in-law's feet, according to a deputy's report. Cramer pulled the trigger, but the gun didn't fire, officials said. © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
