Downes will oversee the Tampa private banking office. Baker was vice president in the commercial banking division at Wilmington Trust Co.; and Downes was vice president and state credit manager with First Union's Private Client Group in Nashville. Neil Kashdin has been named senior vice president/support services manager for Republic Bank. Kashdin worked for Bank of America's technology and operations division. DEVELOPERS: Jack Wilson was the recipient of the Florida Enterprise Medal, given annually by the Merchants Association of Florida. Wilson is president of the the Wilson Co., Tampa. FINANCIAL: David R. Solit has been named Florida regional manager-wholesaler for C.J.M. Financial Services Corp., Clearwater. Solito was an investment adviser with Waddel and Reed of Palm Harbor. HOSPITALITY: Lisa Morlock has been named area sales manager for McKibbon Hotel Management, Tampa. Morlock will oversee the Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott, Tampa. Morlock worked for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. LEGAL: Michael J. Nolan has joined the law firm Carlton Fields, Tampa, as a shareholder. Nolan worked for Annis, Mitchell, Cockey, Edwards & Roehn, Tampa. Christopher S. Knopik has been named chairman of the Florida Bar's Civil Trial Certification Committee for 2001-2002. Knopik is a lawyer with KnopikKrieger, Tampa. E. John Dinkel III has been included in the Best Lawyers in America, 2001-2002 edition. Dinkel is a shareholder and head of the labor and employment law department of the law firm Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, Tampa. MARKETING: Jeffrey B. Ellison has been named chief technology officer at McVey Creative Group, St. Petersburg. Ellison was senior ASP Web developer at Aspen Marketing Group. NON-PROFIT:Directions for Mental Health Inc., Clearwater, announced its 2001 board officers: Craig Phillips, president; Jerry Dickman, vice president; Sarah Macario, secretary; and Robert Jackson, treasurer. Phillips is a certified financial planner at ProVise Management Group, Clearwater; Dickman is a senior financial consultant at Merrill Lynch, Clearwater; Macario is chief operating officer at Impact Group, Dunedin; and Jackson is a partner in the accounting firm Cronin, Jackson, Nixon and Wilson, Clearwater. RESTAURANTS: Judy Curry has been named Tampa Bay area marketing director for Chick-fil-A restaurants. Curry was chief executive of Creative Marketing Solutions, Birmingham, Ala. TECHNOLOGY: Patrick O. Connelly has been promoted to senior vice president of credit services, the Americas, for Tech Data Corp., Clearwater. Connelly was vice president of credit services and has been with Tech Data since 1994. Z-Tel Technologies Inc., Tampa, announced the following appointments: Andrew Cowen, to its board of directors, filling the seat vacated by the resignation of Buford H. Ortale, who also served on Z-Tel's compensation and audit committees; and Horace J. Davis III, chief financial officer, replacing John Hutchen, who recently announced his resignation.
