Software reviewsBy DAVE GUSSOW, Times technology editor © St. Petersburg Times, published June 19, 2000 Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Second Edition
The box promises "More Questions! More Regis! More Fun!" To that, I'll add: more of the same. For those who have not yet had their fill of the popular TV game show and the first edition of the computer version, the second edition is sure to satisfy. My game play improved on this one: I hit $1-million on my first try. Streets & Trips 2001
As we head into the heart of the traditional family driving vacation season, it's not hard to find places for maps, directions and other handy information on the Web. Which leads to the obvious question: Why buy a software program when you can get the same, or at least similar, information online for free? For those choosing to buy, Streets & Trips 2001 is a solid package. It contains maps covering 6.3-million miles of highways and byways, a good trip planner that gives maps, directions, mileage, driving time and even gas costs, and construction updates that can be downloaded from the Web. The information also can be transferred to handheld devices running Windows CE. © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
