Man injured after running on I-275By Times staff
© St. Petersburg Times, ST. PETERSBURG -- A man was injured Monday night when he was struck by at least one car in an apparent suicide attempt along Interstate 275. The man, whose name was not available, was running into southbound traffic near the 22nd Avenue N exit, authorities said. He reportedly was hit by a car and then got up and ran away. Though his injuries were not life-threatening, he was being treated as a trauma patient at 9:25 p.m. at 38th Avenue N. He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
