Session to help patrons eligible for MedicareBy Times staff writer
© St. Petersburg Times, NEW PORT RICHEY -- The state Department of Elder Affairs will have an information session Thursday for people who are new to Medicare and those about to become eligible. Anyone interested must register for "Navigating the Medicare Maze," which will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the performing arts auditorium at Pasco-Hernando Community College's west campus, 10230 Ridge Road. It will be one of 22 sites across the state broadcasting the teleconference, said Laurie Stierle, the Pasco County coordinator for the Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders (SHINE) program. There will also be a phone set up at PHCC so anyone there can ask a question. Three people will be answering the questions: representatives from the federal Health Care Finance Administration; First Coast Service Options, a Medicare claims processor; and SHINE. To register for the free session, call toll free 1-800-861-8111. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
