Current movies recommended by the Times.

1. The Anniversary Party -- A rocky marriage gets rockier during a party fueled by drugs and suppressed emotions. Excellent ensemble cast led by writers-directors Alan Cumming and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

2. Atlantis: The Lost Empire -- Mild-mannered museum worker (voice of Michael J. Fox) seeks the mythical city to prove his grandfather's theories. Mature animation from Disney's own empire.

3. Swordfish -- John Travolta is back in the groove as criminal mastermind of a sexy, violent computer-hacker heist. Two X-Men, Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman, co-star.

4. Moulin Rouge -- You'll love and hate Baz Luhrmann's film, sometimes in the same scene. Gaudy, bawdy and always kinetic, even when the material gets stale.

5. The Fast and the Furious -- The "fast" in the title refers to street-racing drivers. The "furious" describes anyone looking for high art in this summertime goof.
