Woman with local ties slain
By Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published June 22, 2000 A woman with ties to New Port Richey was shot and killed early Sunday in Sandy Springs, Ga. Monica Lyn Tuttle, 28, of Smyrna, Ga., was shot once in the head as she left work at the Papa John's pizza parlor, said Maj. Wenda Phifer of the Fulton County police. "It appears that robbery may be a motive," Phifer said. Tuttle, who was a manager at the restaurant, left the store with a bank deposit bag filled with money. Police aren't saying how much money was stolen. Phifer said several people, including current and former employees, have been interviewed, but there are no suspects. Tuttle's parents, Steve and Nancy Nash, along with her sister, Shannon Leigh, live in New Port Richey. Other survivors include Tuttle's husband, Tim Tuttle, who lives in Smyrna. © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
