© St. Petersburg Times, Look aheadBULLRIDING BLOWOUT: Five Star Rodeo will present the annual Independence Day Bullriding Blowout at 4 p.m. June 30 at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, on U.S. 41 on the south side of Brooksville. Admission is $12; ages 6 and under are admitted free. Advance tickets are $1 off. A portion of the proceeds go to the Hernando County 4-H Club Foundation. For information, call 754-4433 or 796-4552. FUN FOR THE FOURTH: The Brooksville Elks Lodge will have a Fourth of July celebration at 1 p.m. July 4 at the lodge, 14494 Cortez Blvd. There will be games and picnic foods available. Call 596-2582. PRIDE ON PARADE: High Point will have its parade at 8 a.m. on July 4. The parade route will go through the streets of the community, off Cortez Boulevard west of Mariner Boulevard. Participants will begin assembling at 7:15 a.m. Following a flag-raising ceremony in front of the community center, 12249 Club House Road, there will be refreshments, entertainment, arts and crafts and a raffle. CELEBRATE THE 2ND AMENDMENT: The Hernando Sportsman's Club will have a Machine Gun Shoot-Out from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4 at the club off U.S. 19 (about 9.5 miles north of Cortez Boulevard), north of Weeki Wachee. The event will feature three vehicles being destroyed, and live cannon fire on assorted targets. Refreshments will be available. The shooting ranges will also be open. Admission is $1; children under age 16 will be admitted free with an adult. For information, call 597-9931. THE BEAR FACTS: There will be an educator's workshop on the Florida black bear from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 10 at Chinsegut Nature Center north of Brooksville. Speakers will be Marcie Clutter, Nancy Dwyer and Kristin Wood. To reach the center, take U.S. 41 north of Brooksville 7 miles, then turn left on County Road 476 and go 1 mile. TIME WARP AGAIN: The Rocky Horror Show opens July 13 and continues weekends through July 22 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $14 for adults.
