An afternoon storm Thursday dumped heavy rains on areas of east Pasco County, leaving some homes damaged and some residents without power.
The storm, which started about 4:30 p.m., dropped 1 to 2 inches of rain in and around the Wesley Chapel area. But some areas received as much as 3 inches, said National Weather Service forecaster Amanda Ramella.
Residents also reported carport roofs being blown off their houses. Several trees fell on Angus Valley Drive, blocking the road.
Ross Bannister, a spokesman for Florida Power, said some residents lost power in the storm. He didn't know a specific number, but he said crews already were on the scene and expected to restore power later in the evening.
