For a dose of free music and gulf breezes, pack a cooler and bring a lawn chair to Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater for the beginning of the Summer Concert Series. Dixieland tunes will be performed from 7 to 9:30 p.m. today courtesy of the U.S. Air Force Dixie Express, which has invited Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Society scholarship recipients to sit in with the band for a number. Hear the story of a colorful Pinellas County businessman as the curtain rises on Webb's City today at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen-Booth Road. The comedy/musical was written and directed by St. Petersburg native Bill Leavengood. The plot tells the story of J.E. "Doc" Webb, who opened a tiny drugstore in 1925 that grew to a 10-block retail empire. Show times are 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 and $17.50. Webb's City also will be performed at Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg at 7:30 p.m. June 30, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 1 and 2 p.m. July 2. Call (727) 791-7400.
Dip into the Florida Aquarium "Splash" series from 6 to 10 p.m. today and every fourth Friday through Sept. 22 at 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa. The series features reduced admission, food and drink specials, live music and the aquarium's exhibits, including the No BoneZone invertebrates display. Tickets are $5. Call (813) 273-4000.
