Any All-Star ideas?
© St. Petersburg Times, published June 24, 2000 The Devil Rays are not going to have any players elected starters for the July 11 All-Star Game. And they don't have any obvious choices among their pitchers. That means it's going to be up to AL manager Joe Torre and MLB officials to pick the Rays All-Star -- or Stars. So we wanted to give you a chance to offer your input. Go to the Times Web site (www.sptimes.com) and "vote" on whom you think should represent the Rays in Atlanta: first baseman Fred McGriff, starter Steve Trachsel, leftfielder Greg Vaughn, reliever Rick White or centerfielder Gerald Williams. We'll publish the results next weekend -- when Torre and the Yankees are in town.
