ST. PETERSBURG -- Authorities searched Tampa Bay after a driver reported seeing a man jump off the Howard Frankland Bridge on Saturday, but searchers found nothing.
A woman on the bridge called police shortly after noon, saying she thought she saw a man jump, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. She reported seeing this by an abandoned car near the Pinellas County end of the bridge. However, the car's owner later appeared and had the car towed away.
The Coast Guard never found anyone in the water and called off its search later Saturday.
