BriefsThe Citrus County Chamber of Commerce and Central Florida Community College will sponsor their first Business Development Series Seminar, "Customer CareWorld-Class Service," from 9 a.m. to noon July 17 at Fort Island Trail Park Conference Facility in Crystal River and Aug. 23 in the Citrus County Commission meeting room, Inverness. The seminar will focus on skills needed for successful encounters between a business and its customers including behavior skills, problem-solving skills, calming skills and telephone skills. V. Gail Easley is the instructor. Cost is $25 per person for chamber members. Registration forms are available at either chamber location, 208 W Main St. or 28 NW U.S. 19, Crystal River. * * * The associates of RE/MAX Realty One in Citrus County announced that they recently contributed more than $4,700 to the Children's Miracle Network. CMN supports hospitals that specialize in the care and rehabilitation of seriously ill or injured children. Tampa's Children's Hospital received all funds raised in this area. RE/MAX associates contribute a portion of every commission earned to CMN, called the Miracle Home Program. * * * Homosassa Riverside Resort is coordinating a Fourth of July event, the Homosassa Revolutionary River Blast, set for Saturday. Participating businesses include K.C. Crumps/Ramshackles, Homosassa Civic Club, Natures Resort Campground and McCraes. This inaugural event will be a fun-filled, family event with many scheduled activities during the day and evening. The resort is looking for local businesses to sponsor fireworks and the day's activities.
