SAN ANTONIO -- The Rattlesnake and Gopher Enthusiasts, a civic group that presents the annual Rattlesnake Festival in town, is planning a community picnic and yard sale Saturday to raise money for the historic train depot.
RAGE member Laura Beagles said the event, dubbed an Old Fashioned Walk in the Park, is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the old depot at Curley Road and Railroad Avenue.
For $10, participants can rent a spot to put up a table and sell yard sale items throughout the event. RAGE will also sell hot dogs, popcorn and corn on the cob, with all proceeds going to the ongoing restoration and upkeep of the historic train depot.
Throughout the event, the depot will be open for tours.
Anyone interested in selling items in the yard sale may show up at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, with the best spots going to the early arrivals. Buyers will be welcome beginning at 8 a.m.
