BASEBALL: Two Countryside players will continue their careers at Saint Leo.
Cody Clay and Steve Boychuk have signed with the Division II school as pitchers.
Clay (6 feet 2, 185 pounds), a right-hander, primarily played second base for Countryside. He was 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA in limited action this season.
Boychuk (6-2, 170), a left-hander, was a second-team Pinellas County Athletic Conference north division selection as an outfielder.
On the mound this season, he was 5-2 with 1 save, a 1.82 ERA, 61 strikeouts and 38 hits allowed in 48 innings.
MARTIAL ARTS: Angela Prescott of St. Petersburg won a gold medal recently at the United States National Tae Kwon Do team trials at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Prescott, 16, won her medal in the Olympic-style sparring competition to become the U.S women's bantam weight champion and a member of the U.S. national team.
