Summer camps
The Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation Department will offer a series of camps this summer at Leto High. The week-long camps will feature a different sport each week, and each camp has a limited registration.
The camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and are open to kids ages 9-17 except volleyball, which is open for kids 12-17. Each camper must bring a lunch.
The $5 cost per camp will be donated to the scholarship foundation of the Friends of the County Parks.
Advanced registration is required.

The camp schedule is: July 9 -- volleyball; July 16 -- soccer and July 23 -- tennis.
The Wharton Wildcats Basketball Camp is open for registration, with two sessions left.
Session III will be held July 9-13 for athletes entering grades 3-9 and runs from 1 to 4:30 pm. Session IV, for students from eighth grade to 12th, is on the same dates from 6 to 9 p.m.

MLS Camps, the official camp of Major League Soccer, will have two five-day camps in Pinellas County.
The first is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 9-13 at the Lakewood Soccer Complex. It costs $92 for participants ages 5 to 10, $135 for players 11 and older. For information, call Sue Tompkin at (727) 864-2709.
The second camp is from 6 to 9 p.m. July 30-Aug. 3 at St. Petersburg Junior College, Clearwater campus.
It costs $105 per participant ages 6 to 18. For information, call Allan Beaver at (727) 536-9443.
At both camps, participants will receive an individual player evaluation, Lego gift, soccer ball, T-shirt and companion ticket to an MLS game.
Parents and coaches can attend a free coaching clinic during the week.
