BOSTON -- Greg Vaughn isn't shy about making his feelings known.
In the middle of Thursday's game, he had a few words for umpire Tim Timmons, who was behind the plate on Wednesday and handled some check-swing appeals from third base on Thursday.
The two started arguing as Vaughn headed to leftfield, and second-base umpire Mike Reilly had to step between them.
"I wasn't happy with a couple of calls," Vaughn said. "We just exchanged some pleasantries, I guess."
Earlier this season, Vaughn complained that many umpires didn't treat the Rays fairly because they were a last-place team.
