Former Hernando High pitcher Bronson Arroyo will make his fourth major-league start Saturday for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is scheduled to face the Philadelphia Phillies at Veterans Stadium.

He didn't get his scheduled start this week because of an off day for the Pirates.

Arroyo is 0-1 with a 10.66 earned-run average after allowing nine earned runs in 2 1/3 innings against the New York Mets in his most recent start. In three starts, he has allowed 27 hits, nine walks and 15 earned runs in 12 2/3 innings. Opponents are batting .429 against him.

His spot in the rotation is temporarily secure, however, because of the rash of injuries the Pirates staff has incurred.
