Sparklebration will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, State Road 52 in Dade City.
Parking is $5 and adult admission is $2 with children younger than 13 admitted free. Fireworks at dusk, food court, entertainment, kids games and inflatables, military display and fly-by, classic car and antique John Deer tractor displays also featured. For information, call (352) 521-0141.
The Lutz Fourth of July Celebration begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Lutz Community Center on the Lutz Lake Fern Road with a 5K and 1-mile Race and Family Walk/Run.
Cost to participate is $6 before Wednesday or $8 the day of the race. For information, call (813) 949-6659. A flag-raising ceremony is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on the Train Station Depot Stage.
At 8:45 a.m. candidates running for Guv'na will give speeches and turn in money raised for their campaigns. A cake baking contest is set for 9:15 a.m. at the Senior Center and children's rides will open at 9:30 a.m. in the park in front of the library. Children's games will be played at 9:45 a.m. at the library and at the depot.
At 10 a.m. the Lutz Community Parade begins with Vince Acuri, present Guv'na of Lutz, as the grand marshal. Sixty-five units are expected to participate. Entertainment will be held on the Train Depot State at 11 a.m. and barbecue chicken, prepared by the Lutz Volunteer Fire Department, will be sold beginning at 11 a.m. Cake contest winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m. and cakes will be auctioned.
The new Guv'na of Lutz will be announced at noon. The barbecue dinner will be served until 1 or 2 p.m. No fireworks are scheduled. For information, call Shirley at (813) 949-7060.
Randolf Ford VFW Post 7845 at 6315 Stone Road in Port Richey will have a celebration beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Hot dogs and potato salad are on the menu, and there will be music from 3 to 6 p.m. For information, call (727) 847-6722.
Red, White and Boom 2001 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gulf View Square Mall on U.S. 19 in Port Richey. Full House, a country music band, will perform at 6:30 p.m. At 8 p.m. the rock group Harry Dash will perform. Fireworks are scheduled after the performances.
New Port Richey
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7987, 7445 Chester McKay Drive in New Port Richey, will have a picnic/cookout beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Hamburgers, hot dogs, assorted salads and baked beans will be available. Betty Boop will provide music from 2 to 5 p.m. For information, call Dottie Anderson at (727) 372-6911.
The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary is sponsoring a family picnic at 6711 Jefferson St. in New Port Richey from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday. For information, call Barbara Broussard at (727) 863-1939.
A Fourth of July Picnic and Dance are planned for Wednesday at the Father Farrell Knights of Columbus Hall, 2040 Grand Blvd. in Holiday. Tickets are $2.
Food tickets will be sold and doors open at noon. Lunch will be served from 1 to 3 p.m. and dancing to the Sandy and Company Band is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. Advance reservations are suggested by calling (727) 934-8025.
The Hudson Community will celebrate July 4 with a picnic 14121 Water Tower Drive in Hudson on Wednesday. The picnic is scheduled for noon and entertainment and a sing-a-long will be held after the picnic.
