Like last weekend, thieves broke into RV park offices searching for cash, authorities say.

ZEPHYRHILLS -- For the second weekend in a row, burglars targeted Zephyrhills RV parks and stole any cash they could find, according to Sheriff's Office reports.

Burglars hit six RV parks in unincorporated Zephyrhills from Friday night to Saturday morning, bringing the total number burglarized in two weekends to 18.

No homes were burglarized during the spree, just the offices at the parks. According to reports, the burglars typically went in late at night or early in the morning, pried open the door and ransacked drawers, cabinets and desks, looking for any loose cash.

At only one business did the burglars find anything more than petty cash. At one, Jim's RV at 35120 State Road 54, the burglars forced open the door, went through cabinets and drawers and found nothing.

Empty-handed, the burglars noticed a $10 bill hanging in a picture frame and stole it.

Last weekend, burglars hit 12 RV parks in Zephyrhills.

The burglarized properties were primarily along Chancey Road. Others were on nearby Paradise Way.

Sheriff's reports say that the burglars, who have not been caught, also pried open doors and rummaged through drawers and filing cabinets searching for cash. The burglaries happened between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Sheriff's deputies have been giving the parks a business security survey to suggest tips to better secure their property.

Deputies also have suggested that businesses should try not to keep cash on the premises.
