Audrey Eugenia Adams Wright, born July 3, 1901, celebrated her 100th birthday on Tuesday. She has been a seasonal resident in St. Petersburg since 1998 and maintains a residence in Winchester, Mass.

She was born in Rowe, Mass., to Norman Eugene Adams and Eva Hitchcock Adams. Mrs. Wright married Irving Browne in 1918 and had three children, Beryl Browne, Robert Browne and Rosemary Browne Tyler. She graduated from North Adams Normal Teaching College and started her career in a one-room schoolhouse. She later taught kindergarten and third grade.

After Mr. Browne died in 1941, she kept busy as a secretary of the Red Cross in Somerville, Mass., president of the Women's Guild and a deaconess of her Presbyterian Church. She is the only living member of the original Campfire Girls, founded in 1912 in Jacksonville, Vt.

She married Edward Pace Wright in 1953 and her family grew to include five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Wright died last year.

She is spending her time in flower arrangement classes and planning trips to Disney World, one of her favorite places.

Mrs. Wright reports that she is a direct descendant of John Quincy Adams.
