Woman hospitalized after boat accident

HOLIDAY -- A 43-year-old Plant City woman was hospitalized after a boat accident early Tuesday morning in the waters off Anclote River Park, according to authorities.

The unidentified woman was asleep in the bunk aboard a 34-foot boat about 2 a.m. when a smaller boat rammed into it, knocking her about 5 feet to the floor, said Pasco County Fire-Rescue District Chief Michael Ciccarello.

The woman, who complained of pain in her neck and back, was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg for treatment, and she appeared to be in stable condition, Ciccarello said.
