Amateur skateboarders and bicycle stunt riders can see how their moves compare to the professionals' Saturday and Sunday at the Gravity Games Airwalk Amateur Challenge.

As many as 150 skateboarders and 60 bike riders will be able to compete for a spot in the 2001 Gravity Games, to be held in September in Providence, R.I., and televised on NBC. Judging in the skateboard competition will be based on a 45-second run; bike riders will get 60 seconds to perform.

The event also will include music, food, product demonstrations and autograph sessions by members of the Airwalk professional team.

The registration fee for competitors is $30, but the event is free for spectators. On-site registration begins from 7-9 p.m. Friday. The exhibition takes place from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Central Skatepark, 6140 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater.
