Hillsborough: Tampa woman found dead at her apartment

TAMPA -- Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at 7 p.m. Saturday in her residence at the Vineyard, 4614 W Fig St., Apt. D.

The woman, who lived alone, suffered blunt trauma, according to Tampa police spokeswoman Katie Hughes, but police weren't ready to say what caused her death. They are awaiting the Hillsborough County medical examiner's report.

However, they think she died sometime after 1 a.m. Saturday, Hughes said. Her body was found by an acquaintance who was worried about her.

Hughes declined to identify the victim or acquaintance.
