Crystal River woman charged in stabbing

CRYSTAL RIVER -- A 28-year-old Crystal River woman was charged with aggravated battery after stabbing another woman three times with a box cutter on Thursday, authorities said. An arrest report said Doretha Register of 326 Lockview Terrace was at Circle K in Ozello with a man when the man's wife, Aretha Armstrong, drove by and confronted them. Armstrong, who was driving with friends, followed her husband and Register and eventually jumped into the back of his truck, the report said. A fight between the women ensued, and during the altercation, Register stabbed Armstrong twice in her upper left arm and once in her back, according to the report.
