THINGS TO VIEW

  • Young Americans, a new drama series on the WB, throws together students of varying backgrounds at a prep-school summer session, who of course become friends. 9 p.m.
  • On HBO, Oz makes its savagely sharp fourth season premiere with racial tensions running high and prisoners in 24-hour lockdown. While staff psychologist Sister Pete (Rita Moreno) pushes a victim-prisoner interaction program, spooky inmate Adebisi (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) gets hold of a gun. And several new characters up the eerie, volatile behind-bars mix. 11 p.m.
