Art show
Starting today, Snooty Judy's Fine Art Gallery will present an offbeat exhibit called "The Living Room -- An Environment of Fine and Functional Art" by local artists. It features abstract paintings by Nicholas Soldo and Karen Pauline, whimsical furniture by Dino Kotopoulis, neon furniture by Judy Vienneau, metal furniture and lighting by Rick Tuisku, raiku by Fransisco Lopez, driftwood furniture by Nancy and Steve Eggert, and sculptures by Lynn Kavanaugh. It will run through Sept. 11. An opening reception will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is at 514 Skinner Blvd., Dunedin. For information, call (727) 734-9835.
The St. Petersburg Times/Clearwater sponsored Free Summer Concert Series continues with a performance by the Barracudas from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater. If you like British invasion-era rock by the likes of the Beatles, the Kinks, the Animals, the Beach Boys and the Rascals, you might like the Barracudas. The local four-member oldies act, which has shared the stage with such greats as Ray Charles, the Association and Steppenwolf, provides a decidedly vintage sound. Coolers are allowed, but no alcohol.
