Pride elementary names assistant principalBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published July 14, 2000 CROSS CREEK -- The Hillsborough County School Board named a former Hunter's Green Elementary School teacher as assistant principal at the new Pride Elementary School. Board members appointed Jamie Dunnam-Buck, an administrative resource teacher at Hunter's Green, as Pride's assistant principal at Tuesday night's meeting. Dunnam-Buck, 32, has served as a resource teacher at Hunter's Green since November 1999. The position is similar to an assistant principal. Pride Principal Tanly Cabrera said she is thrilled to have Dunnam-Buck on board to help open the school, which begins its first year Aug. 9. Many of the children who will attend the school at 18271 Kinnan St. are being transferred from Hunter's Green. Cabrera said Dunnam-Buck will be a familiar face to those children, helping them to feel less nervous about attending a new school. "She's really going to assist us in that transition," Cabrera said. Dunnam-Buck holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and two master's degrees from the University of South Florida. © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
