Four more people were arrested on Thursday, officials said, as part of Summer Slam -- a series of drug busts financed by a state grant and conducted by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and five local police agencies.

More arrests under the program are pending, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The following people were arrested and charged with selling cocaine:

Carol Ann Arline, 39, of New Port Richey; Charles Lamont Gardner, 24, of Port Richey; Reginald Leon Thomas, 35, of Port Richey; and Rachel Ann Thomas, 33, of Port Richey.

Rachel Ann Thomas also was arrested on a Pinellas County warrant for aggravated battery.

New Port Richey man faces abuse charge in girl's beating

NEW PORT RICHEY -- A 42-year-old man was arrested Thursday and charged with child abuse after he allegedly grabbed an 8-year-old girl's hair and flung her onto the ground, sheriff's deputies said.

Salvatore Martinisi, of 12170 Randee Road, was arrested at home after the girl told deputies Martinisi had grabbed her hair around 11 p.m. on Thursday and thrown her onto a marble floor, giving her a 2-inch abrasion on her right temple. She also told deputies Martinisi had beaten her several other times.

Martinisi was released Friday from the Land O'Lakes jail on $20,000 bail.
