Injury, wellness center opens

Stephen S. Nickse and Elaine L. Smith have opened Seminole Chiropractic, Injury and Wellness Center at 10875 Park Blvd., Suite B-2, Seminole. Nickse, a chiropractor, received his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and his doctor of chiropractic degree from Life University, College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Ga., in 1995. Nickse, 31, is a 1987 graduate of Seminole High School.

Smith, a practice administrator, has worked in medical accounting in St. Petersburg for 15 years. Before opening their practice, Nickse and Smith worked together at One Source Medical Center in St. Petersburg. "I felt we blended perfectly, and we wanted to partner up in our own firm," said Smith, 53.

Vineyard Inn facility names administrator

Lynn Bloom has been named administrator at the Vineyard Inn Assisted Living Facility on Ridge Road in Seminole. Before the appointment, Bloom was director of resident services for Hudson Manor in Tampa.

Brokerage moves to St. Petersburg

Bison Financial Group has closed its two north Pinellas County offices and moved to downtown St. Petersburg. The mortgage brokerage is owned and operated by brothers Jared and David Repka. Since its inception in 1994, Bison Financial Group at 449 Central Ave. has closed loans in excess of $200-million, according to Jared Repka. "We've moved here because of the access to both the interstate and the restaurants downtown. It's easier to work from St. Pete for both us and our clients," Repka said.

Stetson names assistant dean

Jan Majewski has been named assistant dean for the new part-time law program at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg. He will serve as the chief administrative officer for the program scheduled to begin next year. Majewski has been with the school since 1990, serving as the continuing legal education director.

University names director of marketing

Stetson University also announces that Debbie L. Carson has been named director of marketing and public relations. Before the appointment, Carson was a senior account manager for an advertising agency in Fort Myers.

AmSouth Bank hires assistant vice president

Jennifer L. Henderson has been named assistant vice president and private banker for AmSouth Bank in St. Petersburg. Before joining the bank, Henderson served as assistant vice president and private banker with First Union in Tampa.

Conference firm names local vice president

Drew Toth has been named vice president for HelmsBriscoe, a conference resource firm with headquarters in Arizona. Toth, who will be based in St. Petersburg, will be responsible for recruitment, support and client development. He also will help manage the nine regional offices in the eastern U.S. Before joining HelmsBriscoe, Toth served as vice president of sales and marketing for the TradeWinds Beach Resorts and Conference Centers on St. Pete Beach. He will continue to work with TradeWinds on a consulting basis.

Coffee shops opens in Indian Rocks Beach

Anthony Lacquaniti and Sam Megala have opened the Perfect Cup at 311 Gulf Blvd., Suite 5, Indian Rocks Beach. The restaurant offers coffee, bagels, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Before opening the business, Lacquaniti operated a salon in Toronto. Megala is a financial adviser based in Lutz. The business has been open for three weeks. Hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; 6 a.m. to midnight, Friday through Saturday.
