Video Game ReviewsBy ROBB GUIDO
© St. Petersburg Times, Red FactionSYSTEM: PlayStation 2 MAKER: THQ PRICE: $49.99 Red Faction is a top-notch, first-person game that offers plenty of weapons and a huge mining facility to explore. The story of workers on Mars rising up against their abusive bosses is inspired. Grade: A Pinobee: Wings of AdventureSYSTEM: Game Boy Advance MAKER: Activision PRICE: $39.99 Pinobee is a fairly easy but enjoyable action game about a robotic bee. Players can zip through levels or explore them for items and special enemies that affect future levels. Grade: B+ Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: 3rd EditionSYSTEM: PlayStation MAKER: Sony PRICE: $39.99 The show might be getting a little old, but the game is still fun, not to mention educational. The questions are interesting but tend to repeat themselves after a while. Grade: B Disney's Atlantis: The Lost EmpireSYSTEM: PlayStation MAKER: Sony PRICE: $39.99 Atlantis differs from typical action games because players can switch among five characters to solve puzzles. It also seems challenging enough to keep older kids interested. Grade: B+ Commander KeenSYSTEM: Game Boy Color MAKER: Activision PRICE: $29.99 As 8-year-old Commander Keen, players take their blaster and pogo stick into side-scrolling battle with aliens. It's a kids game, but the difficulty seems a little much. Grade: B- The Land Before Time: Great Valley Racing AdventureSYSTEM: PlayStation MAKER: TDK PRICE: $39.99 Great Valley Racing is an introductory racing game for young kids. It's not difficult and contains characters from the popular Land Before Time movie and video series. Grade: C -- Robb Guido is an avid gamer who lives in Tampa.
