    Graduations

    Courtney Schmidt Creason, a graduate of Clearwater High School, graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University with a bachelor of science degree in biology. At the university, she was on the dean's list and was a member of Golden Key National Honor Society, Beta Beta Beta biological honor society, Delta Phi Alpha German honor society and Phi Beta Kappa. She's enrolled in the master of arts in teaching program at the University of Louisville. She is the daughter of Dr. Paul and Cathy Schmidt of Clearwater.

    Eliot John Schrefer, a 1997 graduate of Countryside High School, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor of arts degree in literature. He is the son of Barbara Schrefer of Clearwater.

    Honors and awards

    Jeremy S. Robinson of Largo High School received a 2+2 Scholarship for his performance and leadership at Florida's Boys State 2001. The scholarship covers full tuition for two years at Tallahassee Community College plus two years at Florida State University. Jeremy is on Largo High's varsity basketball team and is a member of the student council. He is an honor student and has received academic letters. He was Packer of the Month at his school and received the business technology department 1999-2001 Outstanding Business Systems and Technology II award. He is the son of Martha Hunt of Largo.

    Amberly Lakemaker of Largo was named an All-American Collegiate Scholar by the United States Achievement Academy. The honor recognizes students for academic achievement. Lakemaker attends the University of Florida. She is the daughter of Jerry and Linda Lakemaker of Largo.
