Focus on volunteers

The Pinellas Park Library, 7770 52nd St. N, needs volunteers for its community outreach program. Helpers provide books to the homebound. Training will be provided. For information, call Gary Bogart at 541-0719.

The St. Petersburg Museum of History, 335 Second Ave. NE, will hold an informational meeting for volunteers at 10 a.m. Thursday. The museum needs help in its store and archives, at the front desk, and with the exhibitions and speakers bureau. For information, call Amy Nolan at 894-1052.

A Brighter Day, an organization providing support to the homeless, needs mentors to help homeless families develop skills and achieve goals. Through the help of A Brighter Day, families become self-sufficient, find housing, and learn how to run a household. For information, call Cathy Sue Kurant at 381-5103.

United Methodist Cooperative Ministries, 3940 18th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, needs volunteers to teach English to adult refugees and immigrants. The organization provides 16 hours of training with materials. For information, call United Methodist Cooperative Ministries at 327-7018.

The Science Center of Pinellas County, 7701 22nd Ave. N, St. Petersburg, needs volunteers to help spread mulch on the grounds of its 16th-century Indian village. Volunteers will decide the date and time of the mulching project. For information, call Cindy Paquin at 384-0027.
