Ryan Lindeman allowed one hit and struck out eight to lead Crystal River to a 6-1 win over Lake Region at the Dixie League Majors state tournament.

Crystal River (3-0), the only undefeated team, is two wins away from the title. It scored two runs in the third and four in the seventh and plays Suwannee at 1 p.m. today.

"Ryan threw a heck of a game," coach Russ Lindeman said of his son's performance. "But he couldn't have done it without the defense and the bats."

The Pre-Majors were eliminated after a 6-5 loss to Sebring.

Crystal River led 5-1 entering the bottom of the seventh. But a hit batter and a single followed by a home run made it 5-4. After a single and a walk, a two-out error allowed both runners to score.

"This is one of the most heartbreaking losses I've ever been associated with," coach Terry Austin said.
