The 2001 and 2002 state swimming and diving meet has been moved from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale, the Florida High School Activities Association announced Tuesday.

Competition will be held Nov. 15-17 and Nov. 21-23 at the Hall of Fame Aquatic Complex and the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Cardinal Gibbons (Class A), St. Thomas Aquinas (Class 2A) and Plantation (Class 3A) will serve as host schools.

Orlando Dr. Phillips and Winter Garden West Orange also submitted a joint proposal to host the event at the Orlando International YMCA Aquatic Center, site of the past four state meets.
