Briefs -- Plays by Kevin Renken, Jolene Goldenthal, Roger Martin, Johnny Knight and C. Kreimendahl are in Briefs '01 by Stageworks, July 27 through Aug. 5 at Hillsborough Community College in Ybor City. $7 and $10.

Texas -- David Rambo's God's Man in Texas opens July 31 at Florida Studio Theatre and runs through Aug. 19. $18-$26.

Heels -- The Alley Cat Players present Spike Heels by Theresa Reback Aug. 3 through Aug. 19 at the Silver Meteor Gallery. $5 and $7.

Pianist -- Brian Ganz gives a recital of Chopin and Beethoven Aug. 5 at the Museum of Fine Arts. $7 and $15.

Jung -- Songs from Jung at Heart, a musical comedy by A. Paul Johnson, will be performed Aug. 5 at the Palladium. $10.

Jobsite -- Plays by Steve Patterson, Christopher Woods and Matt Creager are included in Jobsite Theater's original works festival Aug. 17 through Sept. 2. $12 and $15.

Felines -- Opening Aug. 28, Cats has a weeklong run at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. $20.50-$54.50.
