NFL FLAG FOOTBALL: Club Tampa Palms, 16402 Tampa Palms Blvd., is taking registration through Aug. 20 for NFL Flag Football. NFL Flag Football offers two modified versions of traditional flag football for children ages 6 to 14. League play will run for six weeks starting Sept. 15. DIAL 211 FOR AGENCIES/SERVICES: Residents of Hillsborough County can now dial 211 for the hotline services division at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. The non-emergency hotline provides information on agencies and social services available to improve the quality of life for those needing help. SaturdayBLOOD DRIVE: Florida Blood Services will have a bloodmobile at Eckerd's, 2322 Land O' Lakes Blvd. at State Road 54 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donors must be healthy, age 17 or older and weigh at least 100 pounds. Identification is required before donation. Donors will receive a T-shirt, a wellness checkup including a cholesterol screening, a coupon for a free pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, a 50 percent off admission coupon to Busch Gardens or Sea World plus entry into a drawing to win two tickets from United Airlines. MondayVOLUNTEER COUNSELORS SOUGHT: The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking volunteers to provide counseling to victims of sexual assault. The center provides a 24-hour hotline that offers counseling and community referrals. The agency is located at One Crisis Center Plaza, near Bearss and Florida avenues. WednesdayGREENWAYS/TRAILS MASTER PLAN: The Tampa Parks Department will hold a series of public workshops to inform the public about the recently adopted Greenways and Trails Master Plan. The next workshop will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Community Center, 724 W 109th Ave. The public is invited to make comments and ask questions. The workshop will address community concerns of continued public input, liability, safety and security. There will be maps available showing potential routes for trails on public property and major arterial roadways, but not through neighborhoods. Looking aheadROTARY CLUB: The New Tampa Rotary Club will hold its weekly breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. July 27. PUBERTY/SEXUALITY CLASS: The Women's Center at University Community Hospital is offering a two-part class on puberty and sexuality for girls ages 9 to 14 and their parents. Part I: Puberty will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 28 and Part II: Sexuality will follow from noon to 2 p.m. The class on puberty will cover menstruation, personal hygiene and body and emotional changes. The class on sexuality will cover topics including anatomy, the right to say no to sex, birth control and sexually transmitted diseases. Classes will be held at UCH-Health Source at Citrus Park Town Center, off Gunn Highway. Cost for one part is $10, $15 for both parts; fee covers both child and parent (parent must attend with child).
