WHO'S NEWS: Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers (FAMB) has elected the following officers for the 2001-2002 term: John Mince (Spring Hill) president; Yvonne Shepard (Inverness) president-elect; Jean Creamer (Inverness) secretary; and Gordon Lennon (Port Richey) treasurer.

ERA American Realty and Investments recently announced that Tom Harrell and Lauretta Hajik of its Crystal River/Homosassa office are million dollar plus producers for June.

Trotter Realty GMAC Real Estate in Homosassa has announced that Tonya Kramer is the top listing agent and Jane Hoven is the top selling agent for June. Kramer and Hoven are multimillion dollar producers.

The Citrus County SCORE Chapter 646 offers free, confidential counseling services to new and existing businesses in the county. The counseling covers a range of business-related topics. For an appointment, call 621-0775.

The Citrus County Chamber of Commerce and Central Florida Community College will sponsor their first Business Development Series Seminar, "Customer CareWorld-Class Service," from 9 a.m. to noon at the Fort Island Trail Park Conference Facility in Crystal River on Aug. 23 in the Citrus County Commission meeting room, Inverness. The seminar will focus on skills needed for successful encounters between a business and its customers including behavior skills, problem-solving skills, calming skills, and telephone skills. V. Gail Easley is the instructor. Cost is $25 per person for Chamber members. Registration forms are available at either location of the Chamber, 208 W Main St., or 28 NW U.S. 19, Crystal River.

THURSDAY: The Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers meets the second Thursday of each month and is open to any professional in the Mortgage Industry in Hernando, Pasco, and Citrus counties. The next meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 at the China King Buffet, 10069 U.S. 19 in Port Richey. This meeting will be the annual installation and awards banquet. The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals meetings are on the third Thursday of each month and are open to any accountant or tax professional within the Hernando, Citrus or Pasco counties. For information, call Barbara Tremblay, 795-1532.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central Florida meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Cypress Room in the administration building of Citrus Memorial Hospital. The purpose of the foundation is to grant wishes to children ages 21/2 to 18 that have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For information, call 621-5437.
