15-year-old boy charged with sexual battery

HOLIDAY -- A 15-year-old boy was arrested Sunday on charges that he raped an 8-year-old boy, sheriff's reports stated.

Rolando Vernard Young, 15, of 3452 Moog Road, Holiday, faces charges of sexual battery and lewd or lascivious exhibition. The younger boy told a detective that anal and oral sex acts occurred daily and were witnessed by his 8-year-old sister.

A detective arrested Young and took him to the juvenile detention center.

Deputies arrest man in attack on his girlfriend

NEW PORT RICHEY -- Pasco sheriff's deputies arrested a Hudson man early Monday morning in connection with an attack on his girlfriend.

Deputies found that Rodney Irvin Whittle, 45, of 15403 Omaha St. had knocked his girlfriend to the ground after punching her several times in the face, a report said. While she was on the ground, Whittle hit her on the back of the head with a brick, according to the report.

The woman went to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point to be treated for a cut on the back of the head and several scratches on her body. Whittle faces charges of aggravated battery. He was taken to the county jail in Land O'Lakes. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Hudson man robbed at gunpoint by five men

PORT RICHEY -- A 21-year-old Hudson man told Pasco sheriff's deputies that he was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night, and the five men he blames are still at large.

The incident took place at 8:50 p.m. in the corner of the parking lot at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, according to a report. The man told deputies that he had pulled his Acura Integra into the lot because it had broken down. As he looked under the hood, a man approached and asked if he needed help. Then five men rushed out of a van, and one held the 21-year-old in a headlock, the report said.

The man told deputies that a black handgun was pointed at his head while the men took his cell phone, wallet, silver necklace, watch and keys.

Deputies were able to obtain little description information from the victim. Deputies issued an alert for five possible strong-arm robbery suspects.

San Antonio woman faces DUI charge after wreck

DADE CITY -- A 46-year-old San Antonio woman was faces a drunken driving charge after she left the scene of a traffic accident Sunday, a Florida Highway Patrol report stated.

Eleanor Cleary, of 38204 McDonald St., was driving a 1995 Ford pickup truck when she pulled onto U.S. 98 from a driveway and into the path of another vehicle, causing a wreck, the report stated.

She then left the scene, but a witness followed her into Dade City, where a deputy stopped her. She requested an ambulance and was taken to Pasco Regional Medical Center.

When a trooper arrived, Cleary was leaving the hospital. She had not been given a discharge and still had an intravenous needle in her arm, the report stated.

Cleary failed sobriety tests as well as a breath test, the report said.

She faces charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

Cleary was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where she remained Monday in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Man accused of grabbing cash in restaurant register

SAN ANTONIO -- Deputies on Sunday arrested a 36-year-old man they said threatened a waitress and robbed the Country Market restaurant inside the Flying J service center at 29933 State Road 52.

Joe Clayton Hall, of 1171 Fresco Lane in San Antonio, apparently was paying for his meal when the waitress opened the cash drawer to take out his change.

He then demanded for her to give him money, a sheriff's report said. Hall did not have a weapon but threatened her with physical violence, the report said.

He then grabbed $200 from the register and ran, deputies later caught him.

Hall faces charges of strong-arm robbery. He also had outstanding warrants for violation of probation for possession of cocaine and writing a false check.

He was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he remained Monday without bail.
