Football

Centennial Middle School will hold tryouts Aug. 9 and 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at the school.

Those interested in participating must bring proof of physical, a signed parent permission form, a copy of their birth certificate and a $15 tryout fee.

Forms are available at the school.

Wesley Chapel has scheduled a meeting for players Thursday at 7 p.m. in the school's gym.

The Wesley Chapel Summer Football Tough Guy Camp for players ages 5 to 12 is Saturday at the high school.

The cost is $35 per player.

Flag football

The Dade City Family YMCA will host a clinic at Pasco Middle School for kids ages 12 to 16 from Monday through Aug. 3.

The sessions will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and the fee is $30 per participant. Registration is being held at the East Pasco Family YMCA in Zephyrhills. For information, call (813) 780-9622.

Volleyball

Land O'Lakes tryouts for the upcoming season take place Aug. 6-8 in the school's gym.

Tryouts are from 2 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 8, and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 7. Players should bring copies of a physical, birth certificate and a $20 participation fee.

Informal workouts at Land O'Lakes High are open to male and female athletes in grades nine through 12. The team conditions four times a week at various locations around Land O'Lakes.

Golf

A tournament to benefit the Land O'Lakes football and basketball programs will be held Aug. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Plantation Palms. The cost is $55 per player.

The Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency Chapter XIII will host a tournament at Scotland Yards on Aug. 4.

The four-person, best-ball tournament begins at 9 a.m. The fees are $45 per person and $180 for a team of four.

Only 144 entrants will be accepted.

The East Pasco Family YMCA's second annual Bogey Down for Kids tournament will be held Aug. 31 at Scotland Yards with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

The cost is $60 per entrant, which includes green fee, dinner, awards and prizes.

Scoreboard, fairway, green and tee sponsorships are being accepted.

There is also a $400 team and sponsor package. Team sponsorships are $240.
