© St. Petersburg Times, Man accused of punching girlfriendPasco County sheriff's deputies on Monday arrested a 30-year-old man who, they said, punched his pregnant girlfriend and then pushed her into a fan. Michael Patrick Mallone, of 17130 Marilee Loop near the Hernando County line, was arguing with Leanna Chapman. She was upset because he would not change her 2-year-old daughter's diaper, a report stated. Deputies said that during the fight she charged at Mallone, who then grabbed her hair, punched her in the face and threw her into a fan. She suffered bruises on her left arm and cuts on both legs, a report said. Chapman told deputies she was four months' pregnant, but Mallone said he didn't know she was pregnant. Mallone faces charges of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman. He was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he remained Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 bail. 2 arrested after argument escalatesZEPHYRHILLS -- An argument between two women Monday turned violent and landed both of them in jail by day's end, authorities said. According to Pasco County sheriff's deputies, Lavone Denise Johnson, 39, of 39613 Sixth Ave. in Zephyrhills, had been arguing over the phone with Tier Regina Giles, 33, of 13913 13th St. in Dade City. Giles then went to Johnson's house. Several witnesses said Johnson came into the front yard with two knives in her hands. At that point, Giles took two tire irons from her trunk and threw them at Johnson, the report said. Johnson retrieved one of the tire irons and threw it back at Giles, but she instead hit a young girl who was standing nearby, the report said. Johnson and Giles both were arrested. Johnson faces charges of aggravated battery, and Giles faces charges of aggravated assault. Both women were taken to the Land O'Lakes jail. Giles was released Tuesday after posting $10,000 bond. Johnson remained in jail Tuesday in lieu of $2,500 bail. Woman charged with attack on brotherSPRING HILL -- A feud over a gun escalated Monday night when a woman attacked her older brother in his driveway, deputies said. Pasco sheriff's deputies arrested Deborah Marie Toohey, 38, of 18446 Greensboro Street, after she grabbed a shotgun from her vehicle and hit her 39-year-old brother seven times in the chest and arms, according to reports. Toohey told deputies that she had driven to her brother's home on Akins Drive at 11:20 p.m. to give him the gun, over which they had been fighting. She said she struck him only after he pushed her. Toohey was arrested at her home at 11:37 p.m. and taken to the county jail in Land O'Lakes. On Tuesday afternoon, Toohey was being held without bail on an aggravated domestic battery charge.
