HGTV host visits

Chris Casson Madden, host of Interiors by Design on the Home and Garden Television Network, will present a seminar in design trends; sign her latest book, Getaways; and introduce the Chris Madden Collection by Bassett Furniture at 2 p.m. Saturday at Burdines Countryside Furniture Gallery, 2601 U.S. 19 N, Clearwater.

Facial fanfare

Allure magazine's July issue gives a nod to Posh of Tampa in a directory of the nation's best places to have facials. Owner Carmen Lee said the reference was unsolicited, as was last year's mention among the magazine's Top 10 New Beauty Finds in the Country. At Posh (3120 W Bay to Bay Blvd., Tampa; (813) 839-1882), prices for facials start at $60.

Handmade gifts

Keep Me in Stitches, 14833 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, will offer holiday giftmaking workshops 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Kits with materials that will be used in the projects cost $7 to $30; workshop prices are $25 one day, $35 two days. Call (813) 908-3889 or register online at www.kmisinc.com.
