The red-hot Burns Sisters
Yikes! Intimidated by all that testosterone coming our way with the Vans Warped Tour? Well, the Burns Sisters are no less fiery, but they may enchant a more, uh, sophisticated audience with their charming, rootsy Americana music.
Rich in sibling-strengthened harmonies and good songwriting, Out of the Blue, the sisters' latest, has been putting WMNF'ers and others into a tizzy of delight. The Sisters aren't only sublime; they rock out when need be. Listen to God Made Woman and rejoice in its brute girl power.
The Burns Sisters bring along talented young Jess Klein to open the show. Klein has been bumping around the Boston scene pleasing folks with her smart blend of folk and pop.
The Burns Sisters and Jess Klein perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, Tampa. $15 advance, $18 day of show. (813) 238-8001.

'N Sync is here and everywhere

'N Sync. 'N Sync. 'N Sync.
It's the biggest act in the world. Repeat after me: Everyone loves 'N Sync. Not just preteen girls. Grandmas. Grandpas. The cultural elite.
These five lads broke sales records last year with No Strings Attached, which apparently everyone on the planet bought the first hour it came out. If you didn't buy it willingly, some member of the teen pop police took you to the store and made you buy it. Every home has a copy of No Strings Attached. Why? IT'S THE LAW!
'N Sync was at the Super Bowl, 'N Sync was at the Grammys. The act is omnipresent, much like an Egyptian pharaoh, or bacteria. 'N Sync's new disc, Celebrity, arrived in stores this week to incite more madness.
Yes, the planet, we know, belongs to 'N Sync, five wholesome young men, kind enough to let us share their air.
'N Sync performs with Billie Jean, Christina Milian and Meredith Edwards at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond James Stadium, 4201 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. $25-$65. (727) 898-2100 or (813) 287-8844.
