Gunman robs hair salonBy Times staff writers © St. Petersburg Times, published July 27, 2000 HOMOSASSA -- A gunman made off with an unknown amount of cash after robbing the Hairmasters salon at 3914 S Suncoast Blvd. on Wednesday afternoon. The man, described by witnesses as in his 60s, entered the business about 3:40 p.m. "He did have a gun and demanded money," said Citrus County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Ronda Hemminger Evan. He was last seen running toward Mr. Wang's Chinese restaurant. Deputies searched the area with the help of a dog, and they searched from the air by helicopter, but without success. Witnesses said the man had no teeth and was wearing a maroon cap and a blue and white golf shirt with a small print design. Swimmers, bewareCRYSTAL RIVER -- The Citrus County Health Department is recommending closing the swimming area at the Hunter Springs area of Kings Bay until further notice because of unacceptably high bacterial counts.
