Soccer

The Tampa Bay Extreme of the women's W-League has signed Ashley Willis, Megan Morton and Brittney Lewis of the Tampa Blackwatch under-18 competitive team.

The Extreme can clinch a playoff spot this weekend by defeating Jacksonville today in Jacksonville and Sunday at Countryside High (game time is 4 p.m.).

A loss in either game will leave the Extreme out of the playoffs.

Volleyball

Anyone interested in playing volleyball at Plant should pick up the necessary paperwork at the main office from the athletic director's secretary.

The paperwork must be completed and returned by Friday. The first day of practice is from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 6 at the school.

Miscellaneous

Riverview High will hold a fall sports information meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the auditorium, immediately following the ninth-grade orientation.

Fall sports coaches will be available to answer questions, and paperwork will be available. Tryouts and practices for all fall sports begin Aug. 6.

Any Alonso High students interested in participating in cheerleading, cross country, golf, volleyball and football need to attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Alonso High auditorium.

Coaches and school administrators will be on hand to answer any questions.

An informational meeting for Brandon High students interested in participating in cross country, volleyball, swimming and golf will be held at 6:30 Wednesday in the gymnasium.

Parents are requested to attend.

Physical and parent permission packets will be available at the meeting or at the school's main office daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Practices begin Aug. 6, except for swimming, which begins Aug. 7 at Brandon Swim and Tennis Club.

Jefferson will hold an informational meeting for all prospective fall sports participants at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium.
