THE PITCHERS

Nick Bierbrodt

The 6-foot-5 left-hander, acquired Wednesday from Arizona, features a mid-90s fastball and a slider, and also can mix in a curve and a changeup. He made five starts for the D'backs, beating Chicago and Colorado, losing to Houston and San Diego.

Aaron Myette

The 23-year-old right-hander has been hit hard in his brief major-league career, going 0-3 with a 10.42 ERA in six starts. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he was 4-3, 3.73, in 12 starts. He had a no decision in a May 23 start against the Rays.
