A LONG WAY FROM NAKED JOHN AND YOKO: There is no more definitive statement on music today or on the evolution of Rolling Stone: The magazine is publishing six separate, simultaneous covers of 'N Sync to coincide with the release of the group's album Celebrity.

This is the first time in Rolling Stone's 34 years it has featured a band this way. (I must have missed the six separate, simultaneous Dylan covers.)

Five of the 'N Sync covers are portraits of individual members. They will be sold as single copies at newsstands, supermarkets, bookstores, etc. The sixth cover is a limited edition group shot going exclusively to subscribers.

'N Sync is at Raymond James Stadium tonight.

THINK OF THE CASTING POSSIBILITIES: It would be like a prequel to That's My Bush.

Showtime is developing a script for a drama about behind-the-scenes action during the 2000 presidential election.

It's being written by the people who did Showtime's 2000 movie Strange Justice, about the Clarence Thomas- Anita Hill controversy during Thomas' 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings.

EAU DE BEER AND SWEAT: After his Elkton, Md., nightclub was was closed in 1998 because of noise complaints, Allen Mrachek decided to create a cologne that reminded him of the atmosphere.

DJ Cologne, meant for men, is now available alone or packaged with after-shave in a mini DJ "coffin" box (carrying case) so it looks like two turntables and a mixer. You can see it and get sale information atwww.dj-cologne.com.

The scent has been described as "spring breeze-like," "refreshing" and "ocean-inspired."
